Proposal

Share your thoughts on our Draft Public Parking Strategy for 2026-2036, which sets the direction for how public parking will be managed, improved and delivered over the next decade across the City Centre and Waterfront Village sectors of the Rockingham Strategic Centre (RSC).

The strategy recognises that parking is a shared and limited resource and focuses on making better use of what we already have, while planning for future needs in a smart, evidence-based way.

Since the last strategy in 2017, our city centre and foreshore have evolved, with increased development, changing travel patterns and new community expectations.

In response, the draft strategy prioritises short-term parking in busy areas, improved accessibility (including ACROD bays), clearer wayfinding, and better use of underutilised carparks.

We’re seeking your feedback to ensure the approach reflects local needs and supports a vibrant, accessible and connected Rockingham.
