Proposal
We have received an application seeking development approval for two temporary car parks to be constructed at Lots 3019 and 3029 Sea Beach Way, Port Kennedy. The proposal is summarised as follows:
- Lot 3019 will accommodate a temporary 101 bay car park comprising of 62 asphalt bays and 39 overflow bays constructed of crushed road base, with access from Sea Beach Way
- Lot 3029 will accommodate a 30 bay, temporary asphalt car park accessed via Sea Beach Way
- the temporary car parking is intended to service the Kennedy Bay Village Centre, including Long Point Brewery, which is currently under construction
- the application is seeking temporary approval for five years with the possibility to seek an extension for an additional five years subject to further applications
- landscaping is proposed within the setback areas adjoining the proposed temporary car parks
- a technical note has been submitted in support of the application providing an assessment of the impact of potential noise produced by the car parks.
